Iowa County 2022 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update – Be Prepared!

Iowa County Emergency Management and the Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission will hold three public meetings to gather input for the Iowa County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Mitigation planning assesses the risk of natural and man-made hazards and identifies policies and actions that can be implemented over the long term to reduce risk and future losses from hazards, and increase resilience.

Participants may choose one meeting to attend, and may drop in at any time between 4:00-8:00 pm, as the meetings are open house format.

• Thursday, June 23rd at the Wyoming Valley School Cultural Arts Center in Spring Green
• Thursday, June 30th at Mineral Point City Hall
• Thursday, July 7th at the new Iowa County Law Enforcement Center in Dodgeville

Upon arriving, participants will receive a map of their local area (town, village, or city) highlighting information related to hazard mitigation. Then, they will walk through several stations at their own pace to learn about and provide input related to local vulnerabilities and opportunities for action.

Representatives from Iowa County Emergency Management will be in attendance. Representatives from local government, fire department, EMS, police, school districts, and local businesses are encouraged to attend, as well as the general public.
