Community Service
Iowa County 4‑H is excited to announce a new community‑service opportunity that supports older adults across our county. The Iowa County ADRC Senior Nutrition Program hopes to begin offering monthly activities at the Dodgeville Congregate Meal Site, and many participants have already expressed strong interest in having BINGO as one of those activities.
To help make these upcoming BINGO days engaging and fun, we are launching a County‑Wide 4‑H Club Competition to see which club can collect and donate the most BINGO prizes for local seniors.
The club that donates the highest number of appropriate prizes will win a Pizza Party, awarded in the form of a $50 Pizza Hut gift card, along with county‑wide bragging rights and special recognition from Iowa County 4‑H for outstanding community service.
Prize ideas include:
• Large‑print crossword or word‑search books
• Individual large candy bars or bags of candy
• Jigsaw puzzles
• Soft or cozy blankets
• Lotions or other simple self‑care items
• Granola bars or other individually wrapped snacks
• Small gift cards to local gas stations or restaurants
• Any other senior‑friendly items that would make a fun prize
****If your club would just like to donate money for the Senior Nutrition Program to purchase items, every $3=one item for the challenge.****
All donated items will directly support seniors and help build meaningful intergenerational connections.
If your club has any questions, please reach out to the Iowa County 4‑H office at (608) 930-9850. Please collect items at your local club and then donate everything together at the Extension Office. DEADLINE for donations to count toward the challenge is Friday, August 21st.
Thank you for your enthusiasm, generosity, and dedication to serving Iowa County. We look forward to seeing which club rises to the challenge!
